Mike Schuh's Orienteering Resources Page
I have been orienteering for a long time,
and have participated in meets in nearly
every state in the country.
In 1986 I proposed a "Western States Orienteering Championship";
here is the
background and history
of the event,
along with some
statistics.
Here are some articles that I wrote for the Cascade OC newsletter
on course setting:
Part 1
Part 2
(I'll get the sketches for this article on line Real Soon Now)
WIOL stuff
Ben Hall has written an e-punch operator's manual, available at
http://www.nwlink.com/~ben/odocs/.
Here is a
suggested layout
for the start area at WIOL meets.
I have announced at several orienteering meets,
including the 1986(?) World Cup Final in New Hampshire.
From these experiences, I have collected
bits of advice for other announcers.
